Can my dog get rabies from a dead animal?

I was playing fetch with my yorkie this morning and the ball rolled down a hill behind our shed. I waited for my dog to come back to me with the ball but she didn't so I went to see what she was doing. I saw her rolling around on the ground (like she usually does when she finds something smelly) next to what looked like a dead squirrel or rabit. At the quick glance I took I saw it was rotting and opened up, not just laying dead. So if my dog came in contact with the insides of a wild animal, is there a chance she could get rabies? ALSO the inside of her lower left eyelid is red and puffy. this just came up today as far as I've seen. She always has sties and goobers in her eyes though. The vet has never mentioned anything about it at a check up. She has gotten this red puffy thing on her eye before but usually passes within a week or two. But the fact that it just popped up today after the animal incident has me freaking out! Should I take her to the vet?

Yes, I am not very normal person, and please keep the criticism to your self. My grandson will be 2 in mid-July. My son and daughter-in-law do not live close to us so we see them 3-4 times a year. This past week they came home for an important family gathering and I am disturbed at my grandsons progress or lack of as far as communication. My son and his wife are WONDERFUL parents, but I am wondering if they are too doting. My grandson points and they jump-- he throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get his own way and they do nothing about it. My husband and I babysat one night while they went out with some friends and it took me a while, but we finally had him running around-playing and rolling around outside. He was having a ball. He got dirty like I have never seen him (which is really not allowed by my DIL at all) and went to bed without issue and slept all night long. They picked him up in the morning and he was winey and moody all over again. They live in a very warm area, where it gets pretty miserable outside--so they stay in the house alot. They watch tv quite a bit and since they work alot (she a restaurant manager and he owns his own consturction company), he is at the sitters alot of the time. He is as smart as a whip--I do not believe for one minute he isn't able to do all the things a 2 year old should do, he just doesnt' when his parents are around and they don't make him. They have just entered him into a new daycare/nursery school that I think will benefit him greatly--playing with other kids and having to speak etc. I wish he lived closer so he could spend more time with us (we live on a farm and he LOVES the animals) but that is not possible. The stories I hear from my DIL about her upbringing, her parents were very, very strict, bordering on cruel (opne side of the story I know) my son was disciplined and to be honest once he got past about 7-8 years, I hardly ever had to discipline him, he had a good solid basis of right and wrong. They are both loving parents and I know they believe they are doing the right thing and only want whats best but sometimes I think they are too laid back with him. So do I keep my mouth shut or do I say something to my son/DIL? The not discipling is the part that really concerns me. They have to have a good solid base or they get out of hand as they get older.

Is it possible to have "sympathetic" seizures?

So, about a month or two ago, i found out that my best friends little sister (who is like my little sister), has seizures and has something along the lines of epilepsy. Ever since i found that out, things that dont normally happen to me, keep happening. In May of this year i went to a concert with some friends, and i didnt even get to see the person that i actually really wanted to see because i passed out and my friend had to carry me outside. And fyi, i have NEVER passed out before in my life. Then, about a week or two ago, my friend offered me this spice and salvia mix, and i thought, why not smoke it? so i did, next thing i knew i couldnt see very well, my heart was racing, and there were black dots everywhere in my vision, and i kind of had tunnel vision. I thought i had passed out, but when i asked my friends about it they said i was convulsing and my eyes were rolling back in my head, as if i were having a seizure. So this really scared me and i have no clue what to do about it, or what is even happening to me. I would really like to figure this out though, so i dont put myself in a potentially harmful situation. So, if anyone has an idea of what could be going on, or any advice for what i should do, PLEASE let me know.

How do i deal with the hands pushing off my body when passing guard?

I roll with someone who constantly keeps me at bay by pushing off with his hands when i try to get into side control from passing the gaurd, the problem is that he keeps pushing off and putting his knee close ot his body to block and when i look up guard pass videos to help or advice online it usually shows the gaurd pass technique without ever telling what to do about the hands, its as if there hands didn;t exsist when they were doing the technique. I think your voice is semi-flat, but it has potential :) I honestly don't think that your voice sounds the best with that type of music, though, have you tried any other genres? Since you said that you know nothing about singing, I think that if you'd like to improve, you should look up videos on youtube that can help you. I recently switched from years of java coding to python, and I am having difficulty running programs in command prompt. I set the PATH variable in system variables to include C:\Python27, and the ">>>" sign comes up when i just type "python" into the command prompt. I need some help with tension problems on my sewing machine.?

I have been sewing for over 50 years but just got a new computerized Brother machine. It has an embroidery attachment and I love it. Have already used that feature alot. But..when I try to do regular sewing the fabric puckers up. i have tried to reset the tension several different ways, removed and replaced the bobbin, changed needles etc. The stitches look ok from the top and the bottom, but everything puckers. Do I have to use different thread than what am used to? Just good old Coats and Clark.

A question about a hysteroscopy?

I am 51. My periods stopped a year ago, but in January I had a period so got checked out. The doctor said I had an enlarged uterus and sent me for a scan. The radiologist said there were no fibroids, but the womb lining was enlarged. There was a strange puckering to my womb, and seemed surprised I hadnt had a blood test. I am now booked in for a hysteroscopy. It has now been 2 months since I was diagnosed as having an enlarged uterus, and waiting for the hysteroscopy is making me really worried. I have zero energy, and sleep a lot, and have a pain in my lower back (right) but only when I sit in a soft chair (i.e. when my spine is curved). I realise it may be cancer....but of what....ovarian, womb or what? And if not, what may be causing these symptoms?

I have not had an ultrasound since I was 20 weeks (they didn't tell me how he was laying) and they said they will not do another unless I have complications. They have not externally checked my stomach or pushed down, touched it to feel the baby so how will they know if he's in a bad position? How will they estimate what he weighs? I think he's facing with his back up because I feel two round har spots, one under right ribs and one down diagonal on my left. Never heard of diagonal baby??? I feel mostly rolls and squirms rather than kicks but when I do, I feel them high and low so I don't know if he's in position. They were so great in the beginning and the last couple months they don't do anything except blood pressure, weight, and measure me and tell me everything is fine...

I don't think that it would effect anything like that, but it might look bad while you're dancing, especially if you roll in on plie or in positions such as first and fifth. If you go see a foot doctor, they can prescribe insoles that will prevent your feet from rolling in. My friend, who (like me) is serious about dance, has the same problem. She got insoles and I have tried on her shoes... ah they are so comfortable and they will help. If you don't get those (or until) just focus on keeping all of your toes flat on the floor and make sure your not trying to turn out from your knees as this can make it worse. Always always always turn out from your hips and hip flexers. (:

Storing and retrieving user images in PHP?

I wanted to make a website where users can upload their own images but I ran into a few problems. I started out using blobs and I realized that was not a very good idea, so I've been down that road. I decided to store the images in a directory and then store the image names into the database so that I can easily call them in the code. I noticed that if a user uploads an image with the same name as another image in the directory, the first one is deleted so two users can't upload a file that is called, for example, "photo.jpg" or else one will be deleted. So here's my question: What is a simple but effective way to get around this problem? I have a few ideas but they are not very efficient. Thanks for all your help!

so i started a losing weight the "healthy" way about 5 months ago and i was 140lbs. now i am at 123lbs and have tried every diet out there. my plateau used to be at 130 and i managed to get over it when i was going on a 1200 calorie diet. however, i do not go that low anymore as my metabolism slowed greatly. i have tried the gm diet, the skinny bit** diet, being anorexic, and am now on a zig zag diet where one day i will eat 1600 calories and the next two i will only eat 1200. it doesnt matter how much or how little i eat, i am always the same when the next week rolls around! i am currently lifting weights and playing volleyball twice a week and the other three days i walk about a mile. i am already quite muscular so i do not think i want anymore as i am trying to become a model. i eat healthy and whenever i have a treat i have a small bowl of frosted flakes because they are my favorite :) i only need to lose 5lbs and im in..but i really need help! i am completely against any eating disorders and still want to look healthy once i am finished. btw..i am 16 and 5'7

Okay. So about a month and a half ago I bought 2 grams of blue dream weed from a friend. I smoked it a few times and I loved it. So then one day I had a baseball game and i got mad at my dad who is a coach and I threatened to not go to the game if he didn't do something and he didn't so he left and I stayed home. When he was on his way I went inside. I started to walk up my stairs and I saw an un-describable picture in my head. I kept walking and all of the sudden everything went blurry and super fast motion and I laid down. I couldn't control anything - what I was doing, saying, etc. I kept seeing pictures in my head and also numbers. It looked like it was a movie in front of me and i can only describe it as it looked like my childhood for some reason. My eyes would just look at a few things and then fixate on a random thing. It was the scariest thing I have every experienced in my life. I can't really explain it anymore. So anyway, a few nights ago I snuck out with my friend, his girlfriend, and also a friend who is a girl. So we were on a golf course and we decided to go somewhere else so we all stood up but I was a little behind. I popped a piece if mentos gum into my mouth. I few seconds after my mouth and throat went as dry as they've ever been. I tried to scream to them but i couldn't out get anything out. I leaned over and tried to talk. One of my friends turned around and said dude are you okay. I couldn't talk still. It lasted for about 15 seconds if no breathing. But while I was "choking" I saw the same things I saw when I tripped really bad and that was over a month ago. My eyes fixated on things the same way as before. So then I told my friends what happened. I told my guy friend about the incident that happened because he smokes weed too. We decided to go into one of my friends car and just sleep. I need help reading Syntax in Ubuntu!?

That's a standard unix command usage format message which a command will give you when invoked with inappropriate arguments or with the -h or -? flag. Basically, something tried to invoke the command "unshield" with arguments the command did not understand so it spit out the command argument format under the assumption that whomever invoked the command needed a little help in doing so. Anything inside square brackets ( "[" and "]" ) are optional, anything separated by the pipe symbol ("|" ) is an alternate flag or argument, that is the argument "c|g|l|t|x" indicates that it's expecting the argument "c" or the argument "g" or the argument "l" or the argument "t" or the argument "x". You should be able to call up a more detail description of the command by just typing in "man unshield". If for some reason, the man page for unshield was not installed on your machine just google for "man unshield". Chances are that "cabextract" was just a script and it invoked "unshield" to do it's bidding but for some reason invoked it with the wrong arguments. You might want to do a "file `which cabextract`" to see if it's a script and if it is do a "less `which cabextract` to read it to see if there's any information in the comments within the script, the backquotes are important as it means use the results of the command within the back quotes for example the command "file `which ls`" is the same as "file /bin/ls" because "which ls" returns "/bin/ls". Note that cab files are actually intended for Windows based operating system and though there are utilities in Linux to manipulate them, cabfiles are not used to package programs for Linux.

Cops caught my friends smoking weed? Read situation !!?

First of all, im 15 years old live in New York. My friends were smoking weed and i was just hanging out with them and wasnt doing anything I dont do that stuff. It was 6 of us and they found a blunt on one of them and a bag on the other one. They got locked up for the night and are probably getting charges. The rest of us he told we need to do paperwork which involved him looking at our ID and taking down name address height weight and all that stuff. He just wrote it all down on a notepad. Will I now have a criminal record or be in directory or am I involved in this in anyway and will I even get a citation. Im a good kid and planning to go to a good college and dont want to mess up my future because of this. It would be great if someone from the NYPD law enforcement department could answer this and state that their part of the NYPD, but anyone can answer. Thank you so, so much !!!

Where should I take a friend hiking in Colorado?

have a friend who moved here from Florida a little over a month ago. He's very athletic and wants to do some hiking this summer, including a few 14ers. I've climbed two 14ers, Mt. Bierstadt and Mt. Princeton, and would like to do a few more Class 1 & 2 climbs with him this summer. What would be some good hikes to take my friend on to help him prepare for climbing a 14er? And what 14ers should he and I start off with? We would be looking to do some dayhikes closer to the Denver metro area, and 14ers that would be close enough to Denver that we'd be able to summit and get back down before bad weather rolls in.

Lying or not? Please Help!?

Hi, a friend of mine said that he is doing his Masters (PART-TIME) at McGill Uni (Montreal) and when I looked him up on the student directory, there was NO record of him...meaning his name didn't bring up any matches. I am not sure what to think? Either he is lying OR part-time graduate (Masters) students do not get published in the directory as the regular students do? I'm confused! I even heard that not all the students names are in the 'database/directory' and if so, what determines that? I am more inclined to think that maybe he lied not thinking that I would look him up.

On all pregnancy test \you can see both lines without the color before you take them. The color is an indicator if there is no color then nothing to indicate. It is still very early to tell though. If your periods are very regular then you would have been ovulating around the 6th. If you breastfeed regularly, every four hours, then you should be ok. This is not a very effective form of BC but it does help some. My periods always did different things after each of my children so cramps might just be one of those changes. Honestly, the only thing you can do at this point is wait. I know that sucks but its too early for a test to show positive. The more you stress about the more you will drive yourself crazy. I've known him for a while.. he is really cute, smart, and so caring of others. we have been.friends a while and I actually got dumped by his best friend a couple of months ago and he was there for me through it. Looking for a new dressing for an easy switch up on pasta salad...?

My mom always made pasta salad with rotini, tomatoes, monterey cheese, peppers, green onions, maybe some leftover chicken, and any other veggies she had on hand. But then she tossed it with prepared Italian salad dressing. I HATE Italian dressing, but love the combination of the veggies and rotini. Does anyone have a dressing alternative for a salad like this? I think what I don't like is the vinegar-y taste. That's what I'm trying to avoid. I don't like my face to pucker while eating my lunch :)
