Problems with installing programs onto Debian?

Virtually every Linux I have used and installed has a software management program that will install the software for the version of Linux installed. I really don't understand people trying to use terminal commands and not really know how they are used or work. Yes the power of Linux is from the terminal command line, but it is not necessary to use this to install the Linux software.
